Who We Are

19 Years of Restoring Dignity & Hope

AASRA Shelter Foundation was founded in 2007 by a small group of volunteers who opened a single home for orphaned children in Lahore. Today, we run three core programs across Pakistan — orphanages, water projects and food distribution — but our purpose remains the same: to make sure no child, family or village is left without care.

We believe every family deserves a safe home, clean water and enough to eat. Every program we run is designed to meet that need directly, with full transparency in how every rupee is spent.

Milestones Along The Way

From a single children's home to a nationwide movement — here's how far we've come.

2007

Our First Orphanage

AASRA opens its first children's home in Lahore, giving 40 orphaned children a safe place to live and learn.

2012

Water Projects Begin

We install our first borewells in drought-hit villages in Tharparkar, bringing clean water to over 3,000 people.

2016

Food Distribution Launches

Our daily meal program begins, serving hot meals to homeless individuals and low-income families in Lahore and Karachi.

2020

Pandemic Relief Response

Aasra distributes over 500,000 meals and expands orphanage capacity to support children who lost their families to COVID-19.

2026

Nationwide Network

Now active across Pakistan with 6 orphanages, 65+ water wells and daily food distribution reaching thousands.
